Tolarn was originally “created” by a corporation in order to find and retrieve Tourite and other valuable minerals. Tolarn never had a childhood, growing up in the isolation of a corporate laboratory. As the test on his psionic abilities began to show possibilities, he was outfitted with a digging unit and trained in many aspects of mining and mechanics.

As testing progressed into “real” digging situations, Tolarn began to realize that his lifestyle was not “normal”. He began to see that there was much more out there that he needed to see and do. He began to ask questions and slowly learned of his “creation” and what his “friends” at the lab had done to him. He also learned where his name came from…“Tourite Location and Retrieval Nine”

He eventually escaped. After constantly having corporate “officials” showing up wherever he was, he befriended a cybernetics doctor who managed to locate a tracking device which had been placed in his digging unit. After getting it removed, they seemed to show up a lot less, but somehow they always managed to still keep finding him and causing him to move on.

As time went on, Tolarn realized he actually seemed to age faster than most humans. For every year of time, he seemed to look 2 or more years older. He also slowly learned how to work on ships in order to help get him on to ships for passage to various systems.


“Outlook on Life”
Tolarn never had real friends or companions “growing up”, so he tries to get along with everyone now. He changed his name to “Mack”, hoping this was a “friendly” name and would help him forget what those slavers had done to him.

Mack knows that life is there for living, so you should enjoy it while you can.
