Ex-thief exposed to mystical energy in a high tech robbery that went wrong.

A high tech thief sent to steal a certain statue. The break-in was textbook yet for some reason the owner knew he was there. In the ensuing escape the statue broke and showered Alex with some kind of mystical energy. 

He has had his powers for some time now. Initially he continued his profession as a thief. He soon came to realize that it was rather pointless to continue. He could be as rich as he wanted to be. After a brief stint as a superhero he began to find wealth rather pointless. So he started to share. Carefully, bilking the rich and giving to the poor. Try to be as anonymous as possible. Casinos and other forms of anonymous money that couldn't be traced back to one individual... Currently, he is on the run. Strange people have been following him. He's not sure who he has pissed off but running is the best policy...
